Welcome to Level 1 – Week 1
Welcome to the start of your Phoenix Boxing journey.
This course is not about “getting a workout.” It’s about becoming a skilled boxer. At Phoenix Boxing Academy, fitness is the byproduct — skill development is the priority. From Day 1, you will learn how to move correctly, punch with intention, and train with structure. When your technique improves, your conditioning naturally rises with it.
Level 1 is your foundation phase. Over eight weeks, you’ll build core boxing mechanics, coordination, timing, strength, and ring awareness in a progressive format. Every class follows a consistent structure so you can focus on improvement instead of guessing what comes next. You’ll rotate through skill-based stations, develop strength appropriate to your level, and participate in high-energy team finishers that challenge both your body and mindset.
Week 1 introduces the fundamentals — how we move, how we punch, and how we train. You’ll begin developing proper mechanics on the heavy bag and in shadow boxing, establish rhythm and control on the speed bag, build coordination through skipping progressions, and learn how to scale strength work safely and effectively. The focus right now is precision, not power.
Underlying everything we do is the ABC framework: Abilities first, Building neural pathways through repetition, and Counting reps to measure real progress. Improvement in boxing — like anything technical — is earned through consistency and correct repetition. This course is designed to guide you through that process step by step.
Your only job right now is simple: show up consistently, prepare properly, and stay focused on skill execution. Arrive early. Wrap up. Warm up. Listen. Learn. Apply.
